New Publication - Oasis Wrap

Yay!  Something new!  I'm glad there is something to post right in the middle of writing this book because I was having a difficult time coming up with things to write about when all I really want to write about is stuff of which-we-do-not-speak.

Here is the Oasis Wrap, made in NaturallyCaron's new Spa yarn.  Spa is very, very soft.  It is a bamboo blend.  And, it works up beautifully.

Please note that this particular design was made especially for the Spa yarn, which blocks out very nicely.  However, it may not work for 100% acrylic and I recommend that you use a natural yarn.  You can always try it, of course.  I'm just not sure.  I wanted really nice curves on the ends.  So, in order to achieve that, the ends do not lie completely flat until after blocking.  I tried it a different way and it ended up ruffling up and the ends weren't big curves.  So, that's just a warning.  If you try it with 100% acrylic, it may not lie flat on the ends.

I hope you like the wrap!  I *love* it!

Gah. Now I see where it is. Forgive my stupidity, I'm battling a wicked case of strep and I'm all knocked up on drugs :)

Hi Kim: I love your Oasis wrap and bought the Spa yarn. But I am really confused about round 1. Can you explain what to do after the ch 3, skip last 2 modsc, [sc, ch 3, sc] in beg-ch (first ch-1 of Foundation)? I don't understand the part that says "continuing around and working in front loops only along opposite edge of Foundation Row, [ch 3, skip next 2 mod-sc, sc in next mod-sc] 65 times, ch 3; join in first sc—132 sc and 132 ch- 3 spaces." Does that mean you reverse directions? Or does it mean to keep going around? Are you crocheting into the same mod sc as the first part of the round?

Thanks so much for your advice! I am still pretty new to crochet (more of a knitter). Could you respond to my e-mail address: wendyrieder@earthlink.net? I can't wait to finish the wrap!
