Feverish!

Last week was a tough one.  Christian had a fever for three days.  I wasn't sure why since he didn't have any other symptoms of anything.  But, today, I discovered that two tiny teeth had emerged!  So that fever was from teething.  He usually gets a fever for only one day before teeth emerge.  But, these teeth caused a fever for longer.  It must have been them coming in at the same time.

So, we have a diagram here of Christian's teeth!  Yay!  Just what you wanted to see from a Crochet Journal, right??!!  But, since Christian's grandmother is a regular reader of this journal, I simply MUST provide information on her grandson on a regular basis.

First, the burnt orange color denotes teeth that have come in fully.  The pink and blue denote these two new teeth.  But, I can't tell which teeth they are precisely since they've got a gap in between where the fully formed teeth are now.  So, it's either the pink ones or the blue ones.  And, I assure you that the teeth really aren't these colors.  They are, in fact, all white.

And, can we get a big teethy smile, Christian?

Now, on to the crochet!

I am currently working on the Tunisian Cables afghan.  Jennie Gaskin of Country Yarns has helped me with naming this afghan.  She felt it had a real nautical feel to it.  And, I believe I will probably name it Nautical Waves.  I don't want to simply call it Tunisian Cables because I intend to make other cable afghans using different techniques.

I am at about 29" into the afghan.  I'm purposely making it a smaller size than a normal afghan.  This is because of the hand acrobats one must do in order to get the cables.  I don't want it to be too taxing.  And, of course, it's always nice to not overburden your afghan hook.  So, with that in mind, I intend to make a large border around the afghan so that I can show the beauty of the cables but not overburden the hook.  Here is what I have so far.  Aren't those cables gorgeous?  I'm so proud.

Hi, Rachel!  I didn't get your email about the Firefox problem with my background image.  But, I'm glad that I was forced to check Firefox about that virus yesterday.  At least one good thing came out of having a nasty virus.  And, how many times can someone say that?

Yes, a good thing did come from getting a virus! (wink) I SHOULD have e-mailed you, but actually I didn't. I left a comment to the post where you introduced the yarn background. But everything is fixed now, yay!

I bet that kid is even more adorable now, three years since that picture was taken. I wonder how he reacts when he sees himself here. :)
