Tunisian Cables

Here are two photos of the cables I was able to come up with in Tunisian.  Now, I read two sources of Tunisian cables and couldn't get my original attempts to stand out like I wanted.  I had to put in an entirely different design element.  But, now that I've added this element, the cables want to stand out like mad.

The first swatch (blue) has a cable across 6 stitches and the second swatch (green) has a cable across 8 stitches.

So, my dear readers, PLEASE let me know which one you think will make a better afghan.  I personally like the green one, but the cable really does stand out quite a bit and might make the afghan too bulky.  So, I'm here!  Let me know what you think!

But, now that I'm looking at the photos, I'm thinking that I like the blue one the best.  I'm going to stitch it up in the green just to make sure that it's not the color that is appealing to me rather than the design itself.

I like the width of the green one better - reminds me of aran sweaters :-):)

I like the wider one (green). If it's a cable, then it may as well stand right out! Are you using worsted weight for these?

It could be my 'puter, but the green cables are hard to see. I like the green color better, but the blue seems to show up better.
Not much help, I know!!!!:-?

I like the green one better - the blue doesn't look quite right for cables - seems to be squished to close together.:)

I like the blue one better because it looks tighter and neater (more defined).:)

I like the blue ones. They seem more feminine. Maybe the green ones would be good on a man's sweater.

Kim - Definately the Green! :) Regarding bulk, how's the hand of the finished material? That's something limited computer technology won't allow us to help you with --- yet!! :P

I like the blue one, it seems to be more defined. But, remember it could be the way the different colors show up on the computer screen. I'd like to see them both in the same color

They are both beautiful but I prefer the green ones as they better define the cables. The blue sample cables seem as though they would lend themselves to a smaller project than an afghan. As always, you have lovely designs and patterns!

I LOVE those cables. I've never tried to achieve cables in Tunisian, but I've done some attempting at braids using front-post stitches.

I can't say which one I like better, though -- I like them both for different purposes. For an afghan, maybe the less pronounced, and then use the very pronounced for a swanky scarf or hat brim.
